MAGNETIC TOURNAMENT TRAY - MEDIUM, BASIC EDITION
Leave feedback on the product
The Magnetic Tournament Tray Medium gives you a quick and practical way to move your army between storage and the gaming table. It holds approximately 90 models on 32 mm bases, allowing you to carry an entire force in one go while keeping every unit organised and ready for the next game.
The white galvanised metal plate is already attached to the tray and provides a secure hold for models fitted with magnets under their bases. Integrated handles and a removable front panel make the loaded tray comfortable and safe to carry, while the stackable design allows it to be combined with Small and Large trays for armies containing models of different heights.

DESCRIPTION
Magnetic Tournament Tray Medium, Basic Edition
Move your army from storage to the gaming table in one trip and start playing without unpacking and arranging every miniature again. The Magnetic Tournament Tray Medium keeps models organised on a strong magnetic surface, making it easier to carry an entire force between games, tables and storage areas.
During a game, the tray also provides a dedicated place for eliminated models. Instead of leaving miniatures near the edge of the table or packing them away individually, you can place them directly on the metal plate and carry them together when moving to the next table.
With a typical arrangement, the tray holds approximately 90 models on 32 mm bases, although actual capacity will depend on the size, shape and positioning of the miniatures.
Key Features & Included Components
Factory Fitted Metal Plate
The tray comes with a white, 0.4 mm thick galvanised metal plate already attached to its base. Miniatures fitted with magnets under their bases hold directly to the metal surface, helping them remain in position while the tray is being carried.
A solid metal plate provides a considerably stronger hold than commonly used ferromagnetic sheets, offering better support for heavier miniatures and models fitted with smaller magnets.
Fast Access and Removable Front Panel
The open front makes it easy to reach the miniatures and grip them by their bases. Models can also be carefully slid towards the edge of the metal plate before being lifted, reducing the risk of pulling a miniature away from its base or damaging delicate parts.
A separate front panel is included and can be used to close the open side of the tray, providing additional protection during transport and storage.
Integrated handles provide a secure, comfortable grip when carrying the tray with models in place.
Stackable Three Height System
All SafeandSound Magnetic Tournament Trays share the same 396 × 270 mm footprint, allowing Small, Medium and Large trays to be combined into a stable transport system.
When another tray is placed above the Medium tray, there is 83 mm of available height for models. Without another tray above it, the open top also allows the Medium tray to carry miniatures extending beyond the upper edge of its walls.
This makes it possible to build a set around the actual height requirements of your army, combining standard infantry, larger miniatures and vehicles within one system.
Strong HDF Construction
The main structural components are made from precision cut 3 mm HDF, while the side walls are 6 mm thick for additional rigidity and stability during carrying.
The Basic Edition is supplied in the natural colour of HDF, with darker edges created during laser cutting. It can be used unfinished, or the surface can be sealed by the user with a suitable varnish for additional protection against wear and moisture.
Included in the Set
-
precision cut HDF components for one Medium tray,
-
factory fitted white galvanised metal plate,
-
removable front panel.
Compatible with the SafeandSound Magnetic Case
The tray is designed to fit inside the lightweight SafeandSound Magnetic Case together with other trays from the system.
The case can accommodate:
-
3 Medium trays,
-
2 Large trays,
-
1 Small, 1 Medium and 1 Large tray,
-
or any other tray configuration with a combined height of up to 282 mm.
Assembly
Assembly takes approximately 5 minutes, excluding workspace preparation and the time needed to read the instructions. The metal plate is already attached, so only the HDF structure needs to be assembled using standard wood glue.
We recommend assembling the tray without glue first to check the position and fit of every component. The parts can then be glued together and held firmly in place.
-
initial bonding time: approximately 12 to 15 minutes,
-
full curing time: approximately 24 hours.
