Magnetic Tournament Tray – Large, Arctic Bastion Edition

The Magnetic Tournament Tray Large provides a convenient and secure way to move an organised army between storage areas, gaming tables and tournament rounds. Models can be arranged on the metal plate before the game and carried together without unpacking and repositioning every miniature.

When the trays are stacked, the Large tray provides additional protected space below the next level. This makes it easier to accommodate taller miniatures, vehicles, mechs and monsters while using the available space efficiently.

If no other tray is placed above it, the open top allows models to extend beyond the upper edge of the walls. Combined with Small and Medium trays, it creates a flexible transport system that can be configured around the actual height requirements of the army.

Arctic Bastion Edition

The visible HDF components and the usable surface of the metal plate feature a full-colour Arctic Bastion UV print. Weathered armour panels, exposed mechanisms, cables and technical markings give the tray the appearance of a cold military science fiction installation.

The UV print increases the resistance of the surfaces during transport and regular use. Once assembled, the tray does not require painting or additional finishing. If desired, a thin layer of clear varnish can be applied for additional protection against abrasion and moisture.

The same visual theme is available in the Arctic Bastion Instabases range, allowing the tray and the models placed on it to share a consistent appearance.

HDF Construction

The tray is made from precision-cut HDF components. The reinforced side walls provide additional rigidity and stability when carrying a fully loaded tray.

Metal Plate for Secure Magnetic Hold

The base of the tray is fitted with a galvanised metal plate featuring the Arctic Bastion UV print. The plate is factory attached and does not require any additional installation. Miniatures fitted with magnets under their bases hold directly to its surface.

Unlike commonly used ferromagnetic sheets, the solid metal plate provides a considerably stronger magnetic hold. This is particularly useful when carrying tall, heavy or unusually shaped models.

With a typical arrangement, the tray holds approximately 90 models on 32 mm bases. Actual capacity depends on the size and shape of the miniatures and the spacing between them.

Open Front, Removable Front Panel and Integrated Handles

The open front provides quick access to the miniatures and makes it easier to grip them by their bases. Models can also be carefully slid towards the edge of the metal plate before being lifted, reducing the risk of pulling a miniature away from its base or damaging delicate parts.

A separate front panel is included and can be used to close the open side of the tray, providing additional protection during transport and storage.

Integrated handles provide a secure and comfortable grip when carrying the tray with models in place.

Stackable Construction

All SafeandSound Magnetic Tournament Trays share the same footprint, allowing Small, Medium and Large trays to be securely stacked.

The three available heights make it possible to configure the system around a specific army. The Large tray provides more space between levels when another tray is placed above it, making it suitable for the levels containing taller miniatures and vehicles.

The Large tray can be used:

• as a level providing additional space below the next tray,

• as part of a multi-level transport system,

• without another tray above it for models extending beyond the side walls,

• in any configuration with Small and Medium trays.

Compatible with the SafeandSound Magnetic Case

The trays can be carried inside the lightweight and convenient SafeandSound Magnetic Case.

The Magnetic Case can accommodate:

• 3 Medium trays,

• 2 Large trays,

• 1 Small, 1 Medium and 1 Large tray,

• or any other tray configuration with a combined height of up to 282 mm.

Assembly

The tray itself takes approximately 5 minutes to assemble, excluding the time required to read the instructions and prepare the workspace. The metal plate is already attached, so only the HDF structure needs to be assembled using standard wood glue.

We recommend dry-fitting the tray first to check the position and fit of every component. The parts can then be glued together and held firmly in place.
